It works slow, but fine for a minute to a couple minutes until it freezes. Now, the system boots up 40% of the time (without any commands/iBoot). Touchpad is working (not properly, but working nevertheless), and USB Mouse is working. Now I need a working kext for a USB fix, and/or touchpad.ĮDIT: Installed IOUSBFamily.kext, as well as VoodooPS2Controller via Terminal. So I resorted to booting with iBoot again, but it would freeze up again after each boot. I was only able to boot up with -f, and the trackpad didn't work, nor did the USB (mouse/thumb drive etc.), not to mention how slow the boot up and the computer was. That didn't really make a difference either. Then removed cache, and rebooted (couldn't rebuild). I ended up installing the AppleACPIPlatform and IOPCIFamily kexts. Well, that didn't really make a difference.Īfter countless hours, I managed to use terminal via the install disc. I booted up with iBoot + -f again, and had enough time to run multibeast and install the IOPCI kext, and fakeSMC. I've never had a problem with an update going back to 10.6.4, always applied the combo updates, and the system has always come back up ok. I have used the various versions of MultiBeast over the years with a DSDT configuration. I have an ASUS PK5-E Q6600 system with an Nvidia GTX-460 GPU. If anyone can give me some advice on where to go from here that would be great. I thought maybe if I could get 10.6.8 running I would have a better shot at getting Lion installed. The developer DP3 version installed fine with Tony's xMove method but retail wont. The installing window comes up with progress bar but curser and progress bar freeze almost instantly. I would just install Lion but I am having a similar issue. I'm know using a DSDT and seems to work better but still freezes after boot. I couldn't get 10.6.8 to boot at all with that. Only had to use FAKESMC and NULLCPU kexts. I have been using easy beast on 10.6.7 which has run pretty solidly. I have read about rolling the AppleACPIPlatform kext back but not sure if that will help my situation. I have tried IOPCIFamily rollback as well as the USB rollback but no luck. Up until then I can move my mouse around and open folders than the cursor freezes and I can't do anything. I actually have been able to get it to boot up but it freezes up within a minutue or two after booting up. It seems like alot of people are having problems getting the 10.6.8 update to reboot after install. Sorry if this has been covered already but I have had a hard time finding others that have had my exact issue. Building a CustoMac Hackintosh: Buyer's Guide
